Beginning 7/1/2026, the applicable filing fee for the Pollution Control Board will be $250. This is a change to the Environmental Protection Act 415 ILCS 5/7.5 that was approved in Public Act 104-0466. The filing fee amount will be adjusted every July 1 based on the language dictated per P.A 104-0466 and statutory change to 415 ILCS 5/7.5.
Board Members bring a balance of qualifications and backgrounds to the environmental cases that they consider. With legal, engineering, biological, geological, and environmental science expertise, the Board reviews hundreds of environmental cases each year.
The Board has five Members, one of whom is designated as Chair by the Governor. Each member is appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Illinois State Senate for a three-year term. For a list of former Members, see the Former Member List. For an overview of the Board and its functions, see this page.
