- The Board Adopts Rules for Hospital/Medical/Infectious Waste Incinerators
The Board, on September 22, 2011, adopted amendments to the Board’s air quality standards
rules for “Hospital/Medical/Infectious Waste Incinerators” (HMIWI).
- The proposed rules were
filed on December 23, 2010 by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and
docketed as In the Matter of: Amendments to 35 Ill.
- The compliance date for the new rules is January 1, 2014.
- These rules will become effective upon filing with the Secretary of State.
- Hard copies may be obtained for $.75 per page from the Clerk’s office
