September 22, 2011 - The Board, on September 22, 2011, adopted amendments to the Board’s air quality standards rules for “Hospital/Medical/Infectious Waste Incinerators” (HMIWI). The proposed rules were filed on December 23, 2010 by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and docketed as In the Matter of: Amendments to 35 Ill. Adm. Code Part 229: Hospital/Medical/Infectious Waste Incinerators (R11-20).

The Board, on September 22, 2011, adopted amendments to the Board’s air quality standardsrules for “Hospital/Medical/Infectious Waste Incinerators” (HMIWI).
The proposed rules were

The compliance date for the new rules is January 1, 2014.
These rules will become effective upon filing with the Secretary of State.
