In this “identical-in-substance” rulemaking, the Board on November 20, 2014, proposed for
public comment an amendment to the Illinois definition of “volatile organic material” (VOM).
- The amendment reflects USEPA’s most recent exemption of a chemical compound from
regulation as an ozone precursor.
- On March 27, 2014, USEPA exempted one new compound from the
definition of VOM: 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol.
