Board Proposes Amendment To The Illinois Definition Of “Volatile Organic Material”
In this “identical-in-substance” rulemaking, the Board on November 20, 2014, proposed for public comment an amendment to the Illinois definition of “volatile organic material” (VOM). The amendment reflects USEPA’s most recent exemption of a chemical compound from regulation as an ozone precursor. The update includes all USEPA actions taken during the first half of calendar year 2014. On March 27, 2014, USEPA exempted one new compound from the definition of VOM: 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol.
