Board Adopts Amendments to the Volatile Organic Material Emissions Control Regulations
July 21, 2011 - On July 21, 2011, the Illinois Pollution Control Board adopted amendments to its air pollution regulations governing emissions of volatile organic material (VOM). The rulemaking is docketed as In the Matter of: Reasonably Available Control Technology (RACT) for Volatile Organic Material Emissions From Group II and Group IV Consumer & Commercial Products: Proposed Amendments to 35 Ill. Adm. Code 211, 218, and 219 (R11-23). The Illinois Environmental Protection (IEPA) filed this rulemaking on March 7, 2011 pursuant to authorities including the “fast-track” rulemaking provisions at Section 28.5 of the Environmental Protection Act (Act).
