The provisional variance will allow the city to continue operating its wastewater treatment plant while necessary repair work is completed. The repair work consists of draining, cleaning, and painting one of its package plants. The Board had previously granted the City of Wood Dale a 45-day provisional variance on July 27, 2000, for this purpose. Due to unanticipated delays, the city was unable to complete the necessary work during the first provisional variance period.
