I live in the Peoria area and I am very concerned for our environmentalresources.
I feel
hazardous waste landfills like Peoria Disposal Company (PDC) can pose publichealth threats when they exceed the environment's capacity to remain safe.
Now PDC wants to change its status
from waste collection and treatment to a designation of "waste generator inorder to exempt itself from sitting authority of the Peoria County Board.
The
Illinois EPA denied the request in August 2007 and PDC has appealed thedecision to the IPCB.This is obviously a technical maneuver to bypass the legitimate localgo...
