The District is
presently operating its Main Treatment Plant under a variancegranted in PCB 75-502, and which expires on December 1, 1976.
The prior variance allowed the
District to forego installing temporary phosphorus removalfacilities, facilities which were to be utilized for only ashort period of time and which carried a high associatedcost of $40,000.00.
The variance will be extended subject to the condition
that the District shall maintain the phosphorus effluentconcentration at or belo~j 1975 levels.
