Abstract:	RECEIVED CLERI-VS OFFICEAPR 2 5 2001April 23, 2001Ms. When the first set of rules for the Livestock Management Facilities Act was being promulgated, the Alliance brought before you some ofthese farmers and rural residentsto share their concerns. Minnesota, for example, published draft guidance documents concerning the siting oflagoons in karst areas after thecollapses ofseveral municipal waste lagoons located in karst. The draft guidance for Minnesota and the report ofthe manure lagoon collapse in Kentuckyare attached. Rules should contain some minimum standards for identifying existing facilities in order to prevent pollution.
