On March 5, 2015, the Illinois Pollution Control Board adopted amendments to the Illinois
ambient air quality standards that are “identical in substance” to the national ambient air quality
standards (NAAQS) adopted by USEPA.
- Added to the List of Designated Methods are one new federal equivalent method
(FEM) for nitrogen oxides (NOX), two new FEMs for ozone (O3), and one new FEM for lead
(Pb) in ambient air that USEPA designated on June 18, 2014.
