- Board Proposes First-Notice Updates to Sound Measurement and Emissions Standards On July 10, 2003, the Illinois Pollution Control Board proposed first-notice new and updated regulations governing noise that would reflect present scientific standards for many of the sound measurement definitions and techniques contained in the Board’s rules. - Adm. - Code Parts 901. - Additionally, the proposal adds new Part 910 to the Board’s regulations. - Adm. - Code 900 and 903, (R03-8) that defines acoustical terms, pollution sources and sound measurement procedures. Publication will begin an additional public comment period, which will last at least 45 days.
