R15-5, Definition of VOM Update, USEPA Amendments (January 1, 2014 through June 30, 2014)
On March 5, 2015, the Illinois Pollution Control Board adopted amendments to Illinois air pollution regulations that are “identical in substance” (IIS) to exemptions to the federal definition of volatile organic material (VOM) adopted by USEPA. This rulemaking updates the definition of VOM to include the single new exclusion that USEPA adopted in the first half of 2014, which was of 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP). AMP is used in pigments, metalworking fluids, food contact paper, and personal care products, and as a chemical intermediate.
