On February 19, 2015, the Illinois Pollution Control Board adopted amendments to the Illinois regulations that are “identical in substance” to drinking water regulations adopted by USEPA. These amendments incorporate three USEPA actions into the Illinois rules. The update includes USEPA’s February 26, 2014 corrections to the Revised Total Coliforms Rule and June 19, 2014 summary approvals of 21 new alternative equivalent analytical methods for monitoring physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters of drinking water. On June 27, 2014, USEPA made a correction in the June 19, 2104 action. The Board included a small number of corrections to the existing text of the regulations that were not based on current USEPA actions. The Board’s corrections include such actions as dealing with citations to repealed provisions and correcting cross-references within the rules.

On June 27, 2014, USEPA made a
correction in the June 19, 2104 action.
In adopting the amendments, the Board added corrections to
the text of the drinking water rules based on comments from the Illinois EnvironmentalProtection Agency (IEPA) and USEPA.
