I object to Ameren’s Petition for a Variance, Docket No.
The original agreement included new clean air
standards for mercury, sulfur dioxide (S02) and nitrous oxide (NOx), which create acid rain and smog, as well as many health-related I problems.
The state upheld its side of the deal, but now Ameren is trying to
stall cleaning up its coal plants like it promised to.
I hope you will
reject the company’s request for a variance and instead hold the company to the standard passed in 2006 and the agreement it made to reduce mercury pollution.
