I am meriting regarding the Illinois EPA's renewal of Peoria Disposal Company'soperating permit effective January 1, 2008 (case PCB-O8-42).
Prior to the renewal,
you upheld the Peoria County Board's decision to deny an expansion request fromPDC.
You also upheld an IEPA decision to deny PDC a permit modification that would
have exempted it from the Peoria County Board's siting author*.
I ask you to carefully
review the new permit to ensure that it does not give PDC a backdoor for expandingoperations and does not push the anticipated closure date further into the future.
