Dear Members Of The Illinois Pollution Control Board:
I urge you to adopt strong controls that, by 2009, wouldcut coal plant mercury pollution by 90% .
Every river, lake, and stream in Illinois now carries a health
warning for mercury contamination.
Illinois can address this
problem now and show America how requiring cost-effectivemeasures for mercury control will clean up local lakes andstreams and promote a healthy economy.
