Southern Illinois University (SIU) filed a variance request onJanuary 21, 1974, for an extension of time until April 15, 1974, tocomplete modifications of the waste water treatment system locatedat SIU’s Little Grassy Lake Outdoor Laboratory.
This summer camping facility generates approximately
7500 gallons per day of sewage plant effluent which is incompliance with the requirement of 4 mg/l of BOO5, but violates thesuspended solids requirement of 5mg/i (Water Rule 404(f)).
