ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY,Respondent.
  • The proposed 50,000 gpd waste treatment facility will discharge
to an unnamed tributary of Gun Creek which drains to Rend Lake,some 2.2 miles away.
  • The Petition gives the average phosphorus concentration in
Rend Lake as 0.07 - 0.08 mg/i based upon US.
  • The Agency feels
that aquatic biota in the stream will transform some of the solublephosphorus to organic phosphorus in biomass and then eventually intothe stream sediments.
  • This Opinion constitutes the Board’s findings of fact and
conclusions of law.
