  • The May 12, 1977 Order directs Granite City to shut down
its “B” Battery, which contains twenty—seven (27) coke ovens,for the purpose of rebuilding by December 11, 1979.
  • In its
recommendation, the Agency states its belief that the switchof closedown dates will not significantly affect the air qualityin the area and recommends that the variance be granted (Rec.,p.2).
  • The Board finds that the net result of the proposed change
i.s roughly equivalent to that of the original Order.
