The Board, on October 3, 2013, accepted for hearing a proposal that would allow a laboratory
certified by a sister state to perform chemical and physical analyses of source water and drinking
water for the purposes of demonstrating compliance with National Primary Drinking Water
Regulations (NPDWR).
- Currently, laboratories used must be certified and approved either by the
United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) or the Illinois Environmental
Protection Agency (IEPA).
