January 7, 2003 - The Illinois Pollution Control Board welcomes Doris C. Karpiel and Lynne P. Padovan. The Senate confirmed the appointments of Karpiel and Padovan to the Board on January 7, 2003. The experiences of Karpiel and Padovan will enrich the Board in its mission to restore, protect, and enhance the environment for all Illinois citizens as it promulgates environmental regulations and standards; and adjudicates contested environmental cases.
The Board looks forward to working with Board Members Karpiel and Padovan.

Padovan.
Prior to coming to the
Board, Karpiel served in the Illinois Senate from 1984 until 2003, and the Illinois Houseof Representatives from 1979 until 1984.
Karpiel serves
on the advisory boards for the Family Shelter of DuPage and the Department of ChildrenAnd Family Services, Region 8.
She is a member of the Chambers of Commerce for
Roselle, Bloomingdale, Streamwood, St. She also chaired the Governor’sBalanced Growth Cabinet and the Environment and Natural Resources Cabinet, cochaired the Energy Cabinet, and was a Trustee of the Illinois...
