    Dear
    Pollution
    Control
    Board
    Members:
    I am
    writing
    to
    protest
    the
    appeal
    of
    a
    landfill
    application
    for Yorkville,
    IL currently
    filed
    by
    Fox
    Moraine
    LLC.
    As
    a nearby
    resident
    and
    visitor
    to
    the area
    I
    believe
    the
    potentially
    harmful
    situations
    outweigh
    the
    few
    benefits.
    I don’t
    believe
    we
    need
    nor want
    a
    landfill
    in our
    community.
    Fox
    Moraine
    projects
    the
    host
    city and
    county
    of
    Yorkville,
    IL
    and
    Kendall
    County
    will
    experience
    significant
    monetary
    benefits.
    However
    I don’t
    believe
    the
    monetary
    benefits
    outweigh
    the
    environmental
    and
    aesthetic
    degradation
    that
    will
    affect
    the majority
    of citizens
    within
    the
    city
    of
    Yorkville
    and
    the
    surrounding
    areas.
    This
    includes
    increased
    traffic
    congestion
    and
    road
    damage,
    noise
    from increased
    traffic,
    odors,
    water
    contamination,
    and deprecation
    of
    property
    value
    and
    community
    life.
    Yorkville
    is
    an area
    that is
    known
    and
    revered
    for its
    recreational
    activities
    such
    as
    camping,
    fishing,
    canoeing,
    and
    “stay-cations”
    such
    as Raging
    Waves
    Water
    Park
    located
    within
    a
    relatively
    close
    proximity
    of the
    proposed
    landfill.
    The residents
    and
    visitors
    of
    Yorkville
    would
    be greatly
    affected
    by
    this
    project
    as
    it
    goes
    against
    their
    preference
    of
    living
    a
    rural life.
    People
    live
    and visit
    Yorkville
    due
    to
    its tranquility
    and
    beauty
    of its
    natural
    environment.
    Outside
    of the
    above,
    I realize
    what
    is
    in
    question
    now
    is the
    quality
    of
    the
    hearings
    held,
    which
    led to
    the
    City
    of Yorkville
    denying
    the application.
    Having
    read
    the
    hearing
    transcripts
    as
    well
    as
    the
    hearing
    officer’s
    recommendation,
    I
    feel
    the hearing
    was held
    in
    a
    fair and
    just
    manner.
    Based
    on
    witness
    testimony including
    documentation
    submitted
    by
    Fox
    Moraine
    LLC,
    the
    applicant
    was
    denied
    soley
    based
    on
    not meeting
    required
    siting
    criteria
    set by
    the IEPA.
    I
    am
    urging
    you,
    the
    members
    of
    the
    Pollution
    Control
    Board
    to uphold
    the
    decision
    of
    the Yorkville
    City
    Council
    to deny
    Fox
    Moraine’s
    landfill
    application.
    Please
    do not
    unfairly
    rule
    against
    the
    Yorkville
    stakeholders
    by
    overturning
    the
    City
    Council’s
    original
    decision.
    The
    residents
    and visitors
    of Yorkville,
    IL Thank-You.
    Sincerely,
    La
