The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency ("Illinois EPA") hereby
submits the following information based on the requests made to the Illinois EPA
at the hearings held before the Illinois Pollution Control Board ("Board") during
the week of January 28, 2008. Illinois EPA submits the following:
1. UAA Factors Application to the Lower Des Plaines River and CAWS.
(See Attached).
2. Edits on the UAA for the Lower Des Plaines River with respect to
Attachment A of the Illinois EPA's Statement of Reasons. (See
Attached).
3.
Information on impaired segments of the Lower Des Plaines River and
the CAWS. (See Attached).
4. Emails with regard to how Illinois EPA obtained Attachment S of the
Illinois EPA's Statement of Reasons. (See Attached).
5.
Navigation Charts with QHEI values. (See Attached).
6.
Lower Des Plaines and CAWS Stakeholder meeting minutes. (See
Attached).

Comments received by Illinois EPA from the City of Evanston and the
City of Chicago on the CAWS UAA. (See Attached).
8.
Recreational surveys to local governments units and responses. (See
Attached).
9.
Recreational information pertaining to boat launches, sculling activities
and other recreational information obtained by Illinois EPA. (See
Attached).
10.
Recreational data from 2005 from the MWRD boat crew. (See
Attached).
The Board also asked Illinois EPA to respond to Exhibit 22, which was
prepared by the Board. Illinois EPA is in the process of responding to Exhibit 22
and will be prepared to respond to this exhibit at the hearings in March.
Finally, there were also requests made to Chris Yoder during these
hearings. At the time of filing this response Illinois EPA was able to obtain the
following requests: 1) Evaluation and Development of Large River Biological
Assessment Methods and Standardized Protocols for Region V, 2) Temperature
Criteria for Freshwater Fish: Protocol and Procedures (Brungs and Jones 1977).
(See Attached).

Illinois EPA is still waiting for Mr. Yoder to gather the additional information
requested of him. Illinois EPA will provide the information to the Board and all
participants as soon as the information is received.
