Peoria regarding the Peoria Disposal Company's appeal to

expamd thrir waste facility in Peoria County.

Ised to the appeal for the following reasons:

PDC's appeal as a new pollution control facil-

ity is a weak attempt to circumvent their

earlier rejection by elected officials, (our

, County Board).

In effect, they are

attempting to negate local authorities right

to ni,ii_Ertate the site of such a facility.

?

Citizens in Peoria have consistently opposed

both the lateral and vertical expansion of

this landfill because of substantial concerns

regarding toxic effects.

Our county board has already voted down a

similar design proposal in June 2007. I see

no need for granting this appeal.

that this appeal should not be granted.
