Ms. Webb,
I am writing in response to Peoria Disposal Company's appeal to the IPCB to grant them a
permit modification to consider them a waste generator, allowing them to expand the landfill and
bypass the local approval process. I urge you not to grant the permit modification.
I attended the hearing on November 6, and I am even more convinced after hearing the testimony
by both sides and the public comment that the IEPA's denial for PDC's permit modification
should be upheld by the IPCB. During the public comment a quote was read from PDC's own
attorney stating that PDC's customers, not PDC generate the waste. This quote was pulled from
the videotape of the May 2007 Peoria County Board meeting. It seems as if PDC even knows
they are not a waster generator.
I urge you to uphold the IEPA's decision to deny PDC's request for a permit modification. Do
not let PDC reinvent themselves to bypass the local approval process that was designed to
protect the citizens of Peoria County.
Sincerely,
(\icturck .5A-KWan)
