With two Midwestern teams ready to do battle in the Super Bowl,

it is ironic that another group is trying an "end run" to appeal the

Peoria County Board's decision that denied a permit to expand a

toxic waste landfill.

Peoria County citizens recognized that a hazardous waste landfill

over a shallow aquifer that supply most of the Peoria area water

supply is an accident waiting to happen .
