I Support Strong Mercury Controls

Dear Illinois Pollution Control Board :

Mercury pollution from Illinois coal plants is a danger to our health and our environment

. Please make sure

Illinois' mercury Rule :

- Requires coal plants to reduce their mercury pollution by 90 percent by 2009

- Does not allow for"pollution trading" schemes that would let some

polluters buy the way out of

cleaning up

- Does not contain loopholes that would let some coal plants avoid

installing the best available

pollution controls.

We should do everything we can to protect our children and all of us from

the health threats posed by mercury

pollution . I urge you to protect our kids by adopting the strongest

possible limits on mercury pollution from coal

plants .
