Dear Members Of The Illinois I ollution Control Board :

I urge you to adopt strong controls , that, by 2009, would

cut coal plant mercury pollution by 90°lo.

Every river, lake, and stream in Illinois now carries a health

warning for'mercury contamination . Illinois can address this

problem now and{show America how requiring cost-effective

measures for mercury control will clean up local lakes and

streams and romote=a healthy economy .

Reducing mercury emissions by 90% is achievable at

reasonable cost. Please approve this plan to protect

our families and our wildlife from unnecessary harm .
