MOTION FOR AN EXTENSION OF TIME TO ANSWER
NOW COMES the Respondent, MAGELLAN PIPELINE COMPANY, L.P., and
for its Motion for an Extension of Time to Answer, states the following:
1. On September 6, 2005, the Office of the Attorney General, on behalf of
the People of the State of Illinois (People), filed a complaint against Magellan Pipeline
Company, L.P. (Magellan Pipeline Company).
2. Respondent, Magellan Pipeline Company, has sixty (60) days to file an
Answer to the Complaint or facts alleged in the Complaint are deemed admitted.
Magellan Pipeline Company has not yet filed its Answer and is still within this sixty-day
period in which to file its Answer.
3. Representatives of Magellan Pipeline Company have been in contact with
the attorney of record for the Attorney General’s Office and the Parties have come to an
agreement in principle to resolve or settle this matter, but may not be able to resolve all
pending issues prior to the expiration of the sixty-day period in which to file Magellan
Pipeline Company’s Answer.

WHEREFORE, the Respondent, Magellan Pipeline Company, pray that this
Honorable Board grant its Motion for an Extension of Time to Answer the Complaint and
