RE: Proposed Revisions to Leaking Underground Storage Tank Regulations
    R04-22 and R04-23
    Dear Ms. Tipsord:
I am writing to express my
    concern
in regard to the Illinois Environmental
Proection Agency !EPA to regulations governing leaking underground
storage tanks USTS. I’m a UST owner that’s 15 years into saving the money to
pay for leaking tanks. When i bought my business the gas tanks
were used less than 2 years. In 1990 I found out that I would have to remove the
tanks. Because I am still paying for the business, and if the pro-
posed revisions R04-22 and R04-23 are passed, I will not be able to stay in
business. This situation with the tanks now, has cost me more than I
ever thought possible. I know, after speaking to other small business owners like
m yself, that a tremondous amount of illinois jobs and income will
be lost allover the state. That is why I feel I must strongly urge the boardto
ultimately demand that any proposed revision, be thoroughly supported
by the most scientific data available to insure that cost containment is achieved,
which I do understand the need for. This must not pose financial
repercussions to Illinois UST Owners and Operators.l would like this very
important information to be fully disclosed and to be available to the
general public. I’ve tried to work hard to make my business work, and it~svery
scary to think we could lose everything, by incurring even more exper~ses
    than we could ever afford.
    Thank you for your consideration.
    Sincerely,
    ,O~-L—---~
