STATUS REPORT
The Complainant, People of the State of Illinois, by
its attorney, James
E.
Ryan, the
Attorney General of the State of Illinois, pursuant to
Hearing Officer Order of January 23,
1998,
hereby files
the following status report.
1.
The Complaint was filed
in this case on April
7,
1997.
2.
Since April of 1997, Respondent has been taking
measures to correct the
emission problems at its plant.
3.
The parties met
on
March
6, 1998.
As a result of that meeting, the Respondent
decided
to complete a PSD permit application
for its
alcohol plant expansion.
The Respondent
has
submitted
a proposed Scope of Work and
Schedule for the submission of that application
to
the Illinois EPA.
4.
It is the Complainant’s belief that it is in the best interest of the parties that
settlement negotiations be allowed to continue and that discovery and the hearing be
postponed.
WHEREFORE,
Complainant requests that discovery
and the hearing be postponed in
this matter.
Respecffully submitted,
PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS
