RE: IPCB 04-186 Waste Management Appeal
Dear Madam:
I am writing to protest the expansion ofa landfill proposed by Waste Management
in Kankakee County.
The newspapers in the area have covered the expansion question, and we have
attended meetings which explain what this might mean to our community. The main
reason we do not wish to have the landfill expanded is that it is a direct threat to our
health throughpossible leakage into the aquifer that supplies our water. It will make
our community have a laiger garbage dump, and the hundreds oftrucks going
through it will only serve to present problems. It has been proven that all landfills
will leak eventually, and since this one will be over our water supply, it seems only
reasonable that the a Pollution Control Board would not let this happen.
Sincerely,
Alisa and Cory Blanchette
