I would like to go on the record as opposing the expansion of the Waste Management landfill
from the now 80 acres to the proposed 382 acres. The location they’ve chosen is in the
immediate water shed of the Iroquois and Kankakee rivers. The water supply for drinking
purposes is just upstream from this area. Please cnsider this landfill has already poisoned many
wells surrounding this dump.
The garbage trucks will pose a real congestion problem, presenting a danger to school children
on the adjacent bus routes.
This landfill will most definetly deter any real estate or commercial development
Most of the citizens in this county are against it once they learn we may soon have to be drinking
bottled water because of infected metropolitan water supply. We don’t want this dump any where
near the river. People fish there and actually eat these fish. Have mercy on the people who are
trusting you to do the right thing. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
