pollution control.

and the leachate or runoffis ~JIowedinto surrounding soil, potentially discharging to

Based on the information in the application

and the purpose ofthe facilities (collecting,

transporting and/or storing livestock wastes prior to cropland application), it is the Illinois

EPA’s engineeringjudgment that the described facilities,

other than the dead animal

compost bin, may be considered “pollution control facilities,” pursuant to 35 Ill

Adm

Code 125.200(a), with the primary purpose of eliminating, preventing, or reducing water

pollution, or as otherwise provided in 35 Ill.

Adm.

Code 125.200.

Therefore, the

facilities other than the dead animal compost bin are eligible for tax certification from the

Board.

Based on the information in the application and the purpose ofthe facilities, (disposal of

dead animals), it is the Illinois EPA’s engineeringjudgment that the dead animal compost

bin is not a “pollution control facility” pursuant to 35111. Adm. Code

125.200(a), with the

primary purpose ofeliminating, preventing, or reducing water pollution, or as otherwise

provided in 35 Ill. Adm. Code

125.200.

Therefore,

fortax certification from the Board.

compost bins flow due east from the site and drains

lawn area.

The only

animals that

are

composted

are swine.

The pond north ofthe facilities is

a freshwater pond.

We do

not

use

drinking water for

ourselves or livestock at this time.

There is catfish and bluegill stocked in this pond at

this time.
