Dear Mr. Holloran,
I am most concerned with the aggressive actions the Illinois Pollution Control Board is proposing
to take against the Noveon and Poly One plants north ofHenry, IL., (the former B. F. Goodrich
Corp.)
Working at this plant offand on as a construction pipefitter and then as a mechanical contractor
for
32
years, I can attest to the fact that millions ofdollarshave been spent for waste treatment
and pollution control at these facilities.
Since retiring
5
years ago, I do not know the present
plant managers personally butI still know some ofthe senior management and engineers.
Overthe years it has been my pleasure to have worked with the highest caliber people in the
industrial plants located along the Iffinois river betweenHenry, IL., and Morris, IL..
I am in a
position to state unequivocally and with assurance to all that there is not another industrial facility
in this areaemploying people ofa
higher integrity or with greater concern for protecting the
environment than the engineers and management responsible for this aspect ofthe B. F.
GoodrichiNoveonlPoly One facility.
Keep in mind, most ofthese people live in the adjacent
community ofHemy, IL.
I request your staff work with the industrial plants to solve any problems while being reasonable
in your expectations.
Sincerely,
~
