    ORDER OF THE BOARD (by K.M. Hennessey, C.A. Manning, and M. McFawn):
    On January 21, 1998, the Board received the Illinois Environmental Protection
    Agency’s (Agency) proposal to amend the Site Remediation Program (35 Ill. Adm. Code 740).
    The proposal sets forth procedures for the Agency’s review of costs potentially qualifying for
    an environmental remediation tax credit and provides for related appeals to the Board. The
    proposal is required by Section 58.14 of the Environmental Protection Act (Act) (Pub. Act 90-
    123, eff. July 21, 1997 (added 415 ILCS 5/58.14)).
    The Board accepts this matter for hearing. The Board is statutorily required to adopt,
    for second notice, rules that are consistent with Section 58.14 of the Act within six months
    after receipt of the Agency’s proposal,
    i.e.
    , on or before July 21, 1998. See Pub. Act 90-123,
    eff. July 21, 1997 (added 415 ILCS 5/58.14). The last regularly scheduled Board meeting
    before this statutory deadline is July 9, 1998. The hearing officer assigned to this matter is
    directed to schedule hearings consistently with this statutory deadline and as required by Title
    VII of the Act (415 ILCS 5/26 through 29 (1996)).
