I am a property owner in the Bright Oaks Subdivision (Cary, Illinois) near the site forthe
proposed waste transfer facility at 3412 Northwest Highway.
I am against the proposed waste transfer facility for the following reasons:
The garbage that is accidentally dropped and not cleaned up would cause a
proliferation ofmice, rats, etc. in this residential area. Several homeowners have
small children and small pets. With an increase of rats and mice, there is an
increase ofthe possibility ofpets or children being bitten by these disease
carrying rodents. This is a huge concern with many homeowners
    including the
potential groundwater pollution, air pollution, noise pollution and unwelcome
    odors!!!!!
    • Bright Oaks is a very popular residential areaprimarily because the homeowners
take pride in their homes and the Association enforces the rules pertaining to the
aesthetics ofthe area. The addition ofthe waste transfer facility near this area
would be seriously diminish the property value ofBright Oaks and the
    surrounding area.
    • Traffic is another issue. The truck traffic would be a nightmare! The corner of
Three Oaks and Rt. 14 has a Bank and a Wendy’s on one side a gas station and a
small strip mall on the other. Since Wendy’s was built, the traffic in that areahas
increased dramatically. Add slow moving garbage trucks (and semi-trailer trucks)
to this would create significant problem in traffic flow.
    • This is a RESIDENTIAL area. Families LIVE here. This is NOT the place for a
    Waste Transfer Facility.
I strongly support the McHenry County Board’s decision to deny this application!!
