Re: PCB 03-221
Dear Ms. Gunn,
We would like to offer our complete support of the McHenry County Board’s
decision to deny Marshall Lowe’s application for a proposed waste transfer
station on Route 14. The Board’s support of our contentions shows the
appropriate consideration for both environmental and siting concerns.
Allowing the transfer station to be implemented would negatively impact public
héalth,’saféty, äñd ~elf~~A tra~Werstàti~nasproposed, would increase noisy
traffic and malodorous littler in an area that is predominantly residential and
commercial. The nearby Plotte property is being developed and will bring
revenues to Cary. A waste transfer site in proximity to it will jeopardize this
property’s future Pollution and vermin from the waste transfer site would
devastate the Hollows, a sensitive conservation site adjaäenttoLbwe’sproperty.
Property values in the adjacent Bright Oaks subdivision and other nearby
residential areas wouldfall.
Cary is a beautiful village in which to live. The McHenry County Board believes
Cary should remain as it is and therefore, we believe their decision to reject this
application should be upheld.
Respectfully,
Cheryl L Finnegan
