the
City of
Macomb
has
filed
a
variance
request
to
use
copper
sulfate
to
treat
their
water
supply
reservoir.
The
petition
is
wholly
inadequate
in
that
it
does
not
give
dosage rates,
resulting
copper
concentrations
or
ef:fects
upon
the
environment
nor
does
it
pursue
or
allege
that
various
alternative
algae
control
methods
delineated
in
other
Board opinions
on this
subject
cannot
be used.
If the
need
still
exists
for
this
variance,
petitioner
may submit
additional
information
by
or
before
November
6,
1972
provided
that
the
90
day period
with:in
which the
Board
must
act
on this
variance
shall
run
from
the
date
of receipt
of the
amended
petition.
The
Agency
is
requested
to furnish
the petitioner
with
copies
of previous
Board
opinions
on this
subject.
