This petition seeks permission to connect a new home

to a public

water supply whose operation we

found to be in

violation of applicable regulations (McHenry Shores Water Co.

V.

EPA, #72—137, 4 PCB 745 (June 29, 1972)). As in Beran

v.

EPA,

#72—399, 5 PCB

(Nov. 14, 1972), construction

of

the home began before any ban on connections, and

for reasons

stated in Beran, the hardship is sufficient

to

justify the

minimal adverse effect on water pressure.

The variance is

hereby granted.
