These requests to use copper sulfate to control algae should
list resulting
copper
concentrations in
the drinking water, the
frequency of dosage, the period of dosage, the reasons why bio-
degradable algicides cannot be used and the presence or absence
of fish life in the reservoir.
Petitioners should provide this information within 30 days
and should waive the time period for decisions by the Board for an
equal amount of time. The Agency is asked to provide petitioners
with past Board opinions on this subject as a guide (City of LaHarpe,
et al, PCB 72-168, August 8, 1972 and City of Paris, et al, PCB 72-277,
August 15, 1972).
It is
the
intention of the
Board to decide these cases without
a public hearing.
