Illinois

Pollution

requests

the

Institute

for

Environmental

Quality

and

the

Illinois

Environmental

Protection

Agency

to

conduct

a

study

of

the

environmental effects

of

leaf

burning

for

the

purpose

of

determinine whether,

to what extent and in which geographical

areas

leaf burning will oroduce in the atmosphere contaminants

in sufficient nuartities

and of such characteristics and

duration as

to be injurious

to humans, plant

or animal life,

or henltd.

The study should

be

conducted

at

the earliest

time

which

is

feasible

in

the

making

the

study.
