    LIVESTOCK WASTE HANDLING FACILITIES
    INTERIM ORDER OF THE BOARD
    (by Dr. Odell)
    On March 28,
    1974,
    the Pollution Control Board
    (Board)
    received from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency
    (Agency)
    a Motion to further extend the comment period in this
    proceeding from March 31,
    1974, to ten
    (10)
    days following the
    adoption of regulations in R 73-11,
    -12, National Pollutant
    Discharge Elimination System
    (NPDES).
    In support of its Motion,
    the Agency stated:
    “(1)
    The nature of the regulations,
    if any, which will
    be adopted to implement an NPDES program in
    Illinois, pursuant to Section 402(b)
    of the
    Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments
    of
    1972,
    is uncertain.
    (2)
    The Agency is unable, under these uncertain circum-
    stances,
    to revise the proposed regulations in this
    proceeding to make certain that the provisions of
    Chapter
    3”
    (Water Pollut~ion) and the proposed
    Chapter
    5 (Livestock Wastes) are properly correlated.
    This additional time for comments is desirable in order to properly
    correlate the proposed regulations in R 72-9 and R 73-Il,
    -12.
    IT
    IS THE ORDER of
    the Pollution Control Board that the record
    of R 72-9
    shall remain open for comment from March
    31, 1974, until
    ten
    (10) days after the adoption of NPDES regulations in R 73—11,
    —12.
