    ORDER OF THE BOARD (by Mr. Dumelle):
    The Board grants LaClede Steel Company a variance from Water
    Pollution Control Rules 203,
    404(f) and 408 from March
    14,
    1974
    until March
    14,
    1975 subject to the following conditions:
    1.
    LaClede restrict its interim effluent to the current maximum
    BUD concentration of
    12
    mg/l,
    2,
    LaClede restrict its interim discharge
    to the current maximum
    of
    100 mg/i of suspended solids.
    3.
    LaClede continue to operate its oil separation facilities,
    4.
    LaClede shall not discharge any acid waste
    to
    the
    plant waste
    system,
    5.
    Any
    future petition for an extension of this variance must
    contain adequate information on the effect of LaClede Steel’s
    discharge at the edge
    of the mixing zone.
    6.
    Within
    35 days
    from the date of this Order, LaClede Steel
    Company
    is directed to post
    a $130,000 Performance Bond to
    insure installation of the waste
    treatment system necessary
    to comply with Rule
    404(f) which is
    a standard of 4-S or
    10-12 if the Pfeffer exemption is granted.
    IT IS SO ORDERED.
