ILLINOIS POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD
August 14, 1975
CITY OF GALENA,
Petitioner,
vs.
) PCB 75—138
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY,
Respondent.
ORDER OF THE BOARD (by Mr.
Henss)
On June 26, 1975 the Petition for Variance was dismissed
without prejudice. The Opinion of the Board stated that the
variance could be granted if a specific plan could be
developed for use of an air curtain destructor in the disposal
of a part of the diseased elm trees now standing in the City
of Galena. Subsequently, Petitioner filed a document which
we interpret as a Motion for Reconsideration. The Pollution
Control Board will reconsider the case but find that additional
input is necessary for any final decision. The parties will
be ordered to submit, jointly or separately, a detailed plan
for disposal of the wood wastes. The plan shall be submitted
to the Pollution Control Board within 45 days after receipt of
this Order.
It is Ordered that the issues in this matter be reconsidered.
The City of Galena and the Environmental Protection Agency shall,
jointly or separately, submit a plan for disposal of the wood
wastes which are involved in this proceeding. The plan or plans
shall be submitted to the Pollution Control Board within 45 days
after receipt of this Order.
