ORDER OF THE BOARD (by M. McFawn):

In accordance with the Board’s order of October 21, 1999, petitioner Takasago Corp.

(U.S.A.) (Takasago) has filed a “Certificate of Publication of Notice of Petition for Adjusted Standard,”

indicating that a corrected notice of Takasago’s petition was published in the

Crete-University Park

Star

and the

Park Forest Star

on November 4, 1999. In accordance with 35 Ill. Adm. Code

106.711(b), the notice included the following information:

Any person may cause a public hearing to be held in the above-described adjusted

standard proceeding by filing a hearing request with the IPCB within 21 days after the

date of the publication of this notice. The hearing request should clearly indicate the

docket number for the adjusted standard proceeding, as found in this notice, and shall

be mailed to the Clerk of the Board, Illinois Pollution Control Board, 100 W. Randolph

Street, Suite 11-500, Chicago, Illinois 60601.

On November 8, 1999, the Clerk of the Board received a request for a public hearing on

Takasago’s petition from Michael W. Bernard of Crete, Illinois. Accordingly, the Board directs that

this matter proceed to hearing as expeditiously as practicable. The assigned hearing officer must set the

matter for hearing in accordance with the requirements of the Act and the Board's procedural rules.
