    Proposed Rule . Dismissal Order.
ORDER OF THE BOARD (by G.T. Girard):
Section 9.1(e) of the Environmental Protection Act (Act) (415 ILCS 5/9.1(e) (1998)) requires the Board to
adopt regulations which are “identical in substance,” as defined at Section 7.2 of the Act (415 ILCS 5/7.2 (1998)), to
exemptions from the definition of “volatile organic material” (VOM), those compounds that the United States
Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has found to be exempted from regulation under state implementation
plans for ozone due to negligible photochemical reactivity.
USEPA has codified these exemptions as part of its
definitions at 40 C.F.R. 51.100(s). Accordingly, the Board reserved this docket for USEPA amendments during the
    period from January 1, 1999, through June 30, 1999.
During the period from January 1, 1999, through June 30, 1999, USEPA did not amend its definition of
VOM. Therefore, the Board hereby dismisses this docket.
    IT IS SO ORDERED.
I, Dorothy M. Gunn, Clerk of the Illinois Pollution Control Board, do hereby certify that the above order
was adopted on the 19th day of August 1999 by a vote of 7-0.
    Dorothy M. Gunn, Clerk
    Illinois Pollution Control Board
