THE
MATTER OF:
P81—25
PROHIBITION ON LANDFILLING
OF HALOGENATED SOLVENTS
ORDER
OF THE BOARD
(by D. Anderson):
On September
6,
1983, Waste Management moved the Board to
modify its Order of August 18,
1983 that directed that additional
hearings in this matter be commenced on or before October
2,
1983.
In support of this motion, counsel stated that he would
be unable to attend hearings presently scheduled for September 27
and 28 as a result of the Supreme Court’s scheduling of oral
argument in an unrelated matter for September 28.
Citizens for a Better Environment
(CBE) filed a response
September
8,
1983.
Counsel for CBE does not specifically object
to the request.
She has,
however,
requested that the Board
conclude any hearings
in this matter by October 20,
in consider-
ation of the upcoming birth of her child.
Waste Management motion is granted, and the September 27
and 28 hearings are canceled.
CBE’s motion is also granted, and
hearings
in this matter shall
be concluded on or before October
21,
1983.
The Board will not order that hearings he scheduled for
any particular dates, but will
leave this to iLs Hearing Officer.
