INTERIM ORDER OF THE BOARD
(by W.
J. Nega):
The Board finds that the Stipulation and Proposal for Settle-
ment filed on April
25,
1984 is generally acceptable.
However,
some
of
the
dates for compliance which are mentioned
in the proposed settlement agreement have already elapsed.
The Board would appreciate additional
information as to the
current status oE the preliminary
sewer system work and the
interim compliance measures.
For example, on page fourteen of the Stipulation, the Res-
pondent has indicated that all sources of unauthorized inflow
into the sewer system (including,
but not limited to,
downspouts,
footing tiles,
gravity pumps,
sump pumps,
storii
inlets,
inverts,
and leaking manhole
sides) shall be located by March,
1984.
Has
this now been accomplished?
Similarly, has the sewer system map
already been completed?
How many manholes which are subject to
flooding have been raised or sealed so far?
Have routine observa-
tions of the sewer
lines
(manholes) which experience surcharging
begun yet?
In reference to the proposed interim compliance measures for
the Galva NE plant and the Galva
SW plant which are detailed on
pages sixteen through twenty
of the Stipulation, the Board believes
that information on the current situation should be provided
(i.e., what has been accomplished so far, what still needs to be
done, etc.).
Accordingly, the parties are ordered to submit more informa-
tion as to the current status of the preliminary sewer system
work and the interim compliance measures within 45 days of the
date of this Interim Order.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
